I chose UCPC because I wanted a training program that provided a solid foundation in general medicine, which would enable me to be a confident PCP. The broad yet thorough didactics, diverse patient base, and excellent mentorship truly did provide that. Not only that, but going through residency with such an amazing group of Co-residents who shared a passion for high-quality primary care, has lead to lifelong friendships. The additional teaching of leadership skills, communication techniques, and navigating different health systems has also been invaluable in my career as a community PCP.

 

Current job: Primary Care Physician - soon to be solo provider in a private practice (taking over for my dad who is retiring), located in Hawaii.
