Legislative Advocacy
Legislative Advocacy Events
The SPACE Committee, along with UCSF Primary Care Internal Medicine residents, has attended prior California Medical Association Legislative Advocacy Days and Society for General Internal Medicine Hill Days. During these visits, we advocated for safe limits on medical exemptions for vaccines, banning discounts on sugar sweetened beverages particularly in often targeted low-income communities, and primary care residency funding, among other issues. We also meet regularly with our local elected officials in San Francisco, most recently on behavioral health integration within primary care.
