Faculty Development and Mentorship
Our Division is committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for faculty and trainees through a robust mentorship program. We understand the importance of strong mentorship in career advancement and overall well-being for faculty and trainees alike.
Our comprehensive initiatives include:
- Individualized Mentorship: Dr. Radhika Ramanan, our Director of Mentorship and Professional Development, assigns mentors to all new faculty, recognizing that many benefit from multiple mentors across various domains (clinical, research, etc.). While not a formal program, coaching opportunities are available through our certified faculty coach, Dr. Griffiths, providing support for personal and professional goals.
- Targeted Support: Our division provides annual discretionary funding for faculty professional development, along with additional support from the Mt. Zion Health Fund for travel to patient care-focused conferences.
- Comprehensive Training & Resources: Mentorship training and resources are provided to enhance the effectiveness of mentoring interactions. The program is continuously evaluated and improved based on feedback to best meet the needs of our faculty and trainees.
- DEI Focus: We are dedicated to ensuring equitable mentorship opportunities for all.
We strive to create a supportive and inclusive community that fosters success at every stage of your career.
We are currently developing a dedicated resource page for mentoring, coaching, and faculty development. In the meantime, you can learn more about our Clinician Educator and Research fellowship programs.
