Language Access Quality Improvement

The Language Access Quality Improvement (LAQI) working group, led by Mia Williams and Leah Karliner, seeks to improve equity in access and experience for patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) and keep them at the center of our efforts to improve care within DGIM. The objectives of the group include:

  1. Identify and address disparities LEP patients face in accessing care before, during, and after visits in DGIM, including scheduling and written summaries
  2. Identify and improve disparities in preventive care for LEP patients
  3. Serve as champions for improving care and experience of LEP patients within DGIM
